Images that are available for download are copyright/royalty free unless otherwise specified. When otherwise specified, the user downloading the asset agrees to the terms of use as specified by the asset owner. The asset owner assumes all risk/responsibility pertaining to model/location releases.

Under no circumstances may any digital assets obtained from UWaterloo Asset Bank be used in a manner that violates the terms and conditions or sold/distributed at a fee for profit.

Any assets obtained from this site can be used in print, digital or broadcast unless otherwise specified in the asset details.

There are three terms of use, which include:

Assets designated as such are open to use in all content used to promote the University of Waterloo with no restrictions.

Permission required from owner

Assets designated as such may be used with permission from the asset owner depending on the context of the usage.

Restricted

Assets designated as such appear are being managed within Asset Bank but may not be used outside of the original context of use. For example, a third-party licensed photo that was purchased to promote a specific news release.
